Another debut full-length album I’ve managed to get my hands on! This time it’s from the Wales outfit Tides of Sulfur with the album Extinction Curse. Tides of Sulfur plays a mix of sludge and death metal, it’s very groovy, yet brutal and has a lot of doom elements to it. During the whole album I get a sense of despair and how full of suffering the world is, all of this due to the sound of the album and great songwriting. The slow to mid-tempo riffs, that sometimes blasts out into sheer brutal shredding, stays heavy as fuck and are great for getting you to headbang into the abyss.
This album is nothing else than a must-have for lovers of sludge, doom and death.
