Whispered – Songs of the Void (Epic Melodic Death Metal)

whispered_-_metsutan_cover_art

Oh man do I love Finnish outfit Whispered’s style of samurai metal! The intro tack Chi No Odori alone gives you goosebumps on what is to come. I’ve always liked what Finland has to offer with their epic melodic death metal as they usually have a lot of folk or/and power metal influences in it. Whispered being no different in that aspect but adding instrument, lyrics, song that could come straight from Japan. Listening to this album you can imagine yourself being a samurai in a Akira Kurosawa movie and if Oda Nobunaga would listen to metal (of course he would) Whispered would definitely be his go to band.

If you want to experience how it would be like to live and fight epic battles as a samurai then Songs of the Void from Whispered is right up your alley.
